Documentary photographs from an on-going project on immigration and the border showing April 25th - May 13th, 2008 at the Revolution Cafe in the Mission District of San Francisco de California // 3248 22nd Street @ Bartlett // 9a - midnight // free !

Opening Thursday, May 1st in solidarity with the National Immigrant Rights Marches with a community reception and film screening 8pm - midnight.

Photo caption : The Casa de Migrante in Tijuana provides a temporary refuge for up to one hundred and fifty men who have traveled long distances, some heading north to attempt crossing into the United States and other forced south after recent deportations. For two years I have been studying immigration at the border and in the San Francisco Bay Area, documenting migrants, communities both in Mexico and the United States, and the border wall itself - such as in the second image depicting a bird flying over the border where a fence constructed by the U.S. stretches into the ocean.
