Lunatique Fantastique presents the World Premiere of its new family HOLIDAY show inspired by ETA Hoffmann’s original fairy tale. It begins in a similar fashion as the ballet. Fritz (a bathrobe and baseball hat) and Marie (a night gown and ballet slippers) frolic and play. Fritz breaks Marie’s nutcracker, a cherished gift from her mysterious Uncle Drosselmeir. Marie falls asleep and awakens to see the nutcracker being kidnapped by the Mouse King. She sets off to rescue him.

Since 2000, Wetzel and ensemble have created and performed acclaimed productions, including "The Wrapping Paper Caper," "Brace Yourself." and, most recently at the Marsh, “EO-9066.”

Mrs. Claus’ kitchen is the setting for this dark and elegant psychological thriller. Written by newcomer Daniel Tobias, Not Even a Mouse continues the suspenseful tradition of Angel Street, Night Must Fall, and Ladies in Retirement, where the meek must outwit the villainous while tiptoeing the delicate edge of Edwardian propriety.

Expect a shadowy atmosphere laden with rich repartee, thinly veiled passions, detailed Edwardian costumes and furniture, and, of course, murder.

"The Lost of the Red-Tasseled Spear" @ ODC Theater

An intimate look at the inner side of Chinese women's life: "The Lost of the Red-Tasseled Spear" ("The Lost") reveals the struggling and confusion of young women, who were members of the Red Guard, after the Cultural Revolution in 1970s is the inspiration for a new world premiere for 2 selected movements of this new work by Lily Cai which will take place at 8 p.m. on December 9 and 10 as the Lily Cai Chinese Dance Company presents its 2005 Home Season at the ODC Theater in San Francisco. In addition, the home season will also include excerpts from audience favorites, "Southern Girls," and "Beyond."
