The Postcard Show
A Small Format Art Sale at The Lab
December 2 - 4
Opening Reception: Friday, December 2, 6-9 PM
LAB Members Preview Reception: Friday, December 2, 5-6 PM
Sale continues: Saturday and Sunday, December 3 & 4, 12-5 PM
The LAB is pleased to present the 9th annual Postcard Show. For this
open-invitational exhibition, artists are encouraged to submit small format
multiples-whether that be a series of hand-made paintings or a stack of
production run postcards. The Postcard Show challenges artists to stretch the
parameters of media and conceptual strategies by doing what they do
best-subverting and manipulating a theme to their own ends. We encourage you to
participate in the fun! From December 2nd through the 4th, hundreds of small
format editions will be on view as the gallery is transformed into a
bazaar-like bargain-hunter's paradise. Art lovers can explore original works
and discover hidden gems at affordable prices while supporting emerging artists
and a great alternative art space. Fixed-price work will be available for $1 to
$30 (cash, checks, VISA or MasterCard accepted).

Sneak Peek Featured Artists
The
Art Explosion Studios Sneak Peek show will now have a featured artists each
month. The shows are located in the studios gallery and display the art of many
of the artists who work there. It is a great chance to visit a working artists
studio and see their work in a gallery setting.
The
featured artists is given more space to show their work and this gives the
viewer a broader look at the artists portfolio. Many artists go though phases
and explore different subjects through different series of works. Being able to
show what was done in the past and compare that to what is being worked on now
gives perspective to the artists work.
Some
artists work in a larger format and need more space to show even a few works in
their portfolio. The featured artists will have the ability to show their work
and give the art viewer a chance to appreciate more of the artists work.
